Otachi's first show could have honestly been described as either terrible or excellent, depending on who you were asking. If you had asked one of the barn owners or managers, it was an excellent ride, as, miraculously, someone had managed to survive riding the damn horse cross country - Otachi was never known for his calm demeanor during cross country rides and trekking. If you had asked the rider, well... it wasn't quite so much fun. The day started out with Otachi managing to get loose from where he was tied to a fence near the start line, and ended being covered in mud from head to toe while sitting on a still rearing and bucking Otachi. The day of the show was gloomy, drizzling, and windy - a storm had just passed over the area a few days ago, and it was threatening to rain again that day. The cross country course led over several fields, and had a stream crossing at one point. It was at this stream crossing where Ben had discovered Otachi's love of making as big a mess as possible, by tearing at the reins, and galloping directly through the deepest, widest part of the stream - ending in both horse and rider becoming soaking wet and covered in mud for the rest of the course. And the horse didn't even start bucking until after their ride was done. RESULTS: FIRST PLACE
