That damn horse. Ben had been trying in vain to get the horse to stop spooking at every blade of grass and leaf, but to no avail. At his first halter competition, too. That horse must be crazy.
RESULTS: After several hours of spooking, bucking, rearing Otachi, Ben had finally gotten him to calm down enough to lead him near the show ring. The horse was groomed until he was a sparkling white in the sun, thankfully he had never been a fan of rolling around in the dirt, leaving no stains on his coat. Their class and number was called, and Otachi was strung tight as they walked, trotted, and halted in the grass halter ring. As they walked out of the ring, Ben gave a silent thank you to Otachi for not spooking in front of the judges as he patted him fondly on the neck. And as they picked up their first place ribbon, he figured maybe, just maybe, the crazy horse wasn't so bad. HW#1 Halter Class - First Place
