Otachi's dragon tack! I'd like to enter him in the Nordanner Dragon Hunt this year. I cheated a bit, I did a very simplified version of Otachi's colors, since I didn't want his pattern to be the focus of this.
After looking at the Nordanner dragon tack, I decided that in real combat, it wouldn't be very efficient - in fact, much of it would be somewhat useless. So I decided to make Otachi a somewhat 'revised' version of the Nordanner dragon tack, inspired partially by ancient Chinese war horse tack, and mostly by WWII military tack. Weapons include standard military rifle, as well as a set of bow and arrows, and a shield. Pack on the back of the horse contains survival equipment, first aid, and additional ammo for both rifle and bow. Tack includes metal rings on the first girth, breastplate, and back leather piece, in case dragging things (other fallen riders and horses, canons, additional firearms, etc). Also has a metal breastplate to protect the horse's chest, boots to protect legs, and some decorations on the neck. Thinking that the tassles on the back of the horse could be replaced with other decorations, possibly used as some sort of 'kill count'.
I may further revise the tack, to include more armor and protection for the horse, but for now I like it how it is.
Props to anyone who gets the not-so-subtle reference in the tack ^U^;;
