Description
Snow covered the ground completely, and a recent ice storm had left much of the trees and brush with a thin coating of ice. However, it was a warm morning, and Ben decided to take Windgate's newest horse out for a ride.
They would be going to Dael's first show later that day, and Ben wanted to make sure that Dael wouldn't act up. Despite Dael's remarkable calmness, Ben knew better than to trust the horse - probably due to several years of riding Otachi, who's "good behavior" constituted not throwing Ben into the dirt.
Ben threw on Dael's dressage tack, and instead of using the indoor ring, decided to go for a ride in the paddock. He had only ridden the horse once or twice before, since Windgate had bought him just after Christmas - an expensive import with no known lineage, he would make a good breeding prospect as well as showing. So far, his quiet and respectful attitude had proved him eligible for dressage, and so instead risk injuring the horse's legs while training him to jump early, they had decided to start his dressage training during the winter. He didn't know much as of yet, since he was only green-broken coming from.... wherever he was imported from (Ben couldn't remember), and they hadn't had much training time before his first show.
Getting Dael warmed up, Ben asked him to move forward into a trot - surprising them both when Dael started to pick up his feet in the snow. Apparently they hadn't had much snow where he had come from.
After working with the horse for a few minutes, Ben decided to pack it in. He had to find whatever spare show supplies the barn had, since they hadn't gotten around to purchasing anything for Dael yet - and he knew that would take him quite a while, judging by the state the barn was in.
Sighing heavily, he untacked Dael and put him into the indoor ring to walk around for a bit. Time to start packing.

I was going to try and do a few training images before entering him in a show, but nope guess not QUQ;; I'm pretty happy with this, anyway - still trying to learn how to use Dael's colors, though quq;; dark horses are substantially harder to fit into a background than light colored horses e0e;;
